Divisional public relations department in Golden State receives award in Washington D.C.

 

“Through the efforts of Jennifer Byrd, divisional public relations director, the Golden State Division was presented with an award from the National Nonprofit Association” in the category of Public Relations in a Crisis Management situation, according to Divisional Commander Major Joe Posillico. The award was presented following a 47% increase in Christmas revenues for 2004 over 2003 in the red kettle campaign in San Francisco, in spite of policies enacted to curtail the traditional placement of some Army kettles in major retail locations.

The public relations department directed their creative energies toward raising public awareness and working with local media to tell the Army story in meaningful ways. Congratulations to Jennifer Byrd and the divisional team on winning this award.
