The Sunday school of the Gateway Corps in Ketchikan, Alaska has raised $1,000 for World Services. The average attendance of the Sunday school is 22.

Under the supervision of Major Riekie Govaars the youth and adults have caught the vision of providing for our missionaries who often serve in adverse conditions.

Every Sunday an offering is taken during the opening exercises and the amount is added to the chart. Everyone is encouraged to bring what they can to help others. Special offering boxes have been used as well.

The Sunday school had been raising $500 a year, but when asked how much they wanted to raise, everyone responded with “DOUBLE!” For the past two years we have been able to present the corps with $1,000.

The Gateway Sunday school may be small in numbers, but we are mighty in the Spirit of giving. Heart to God and Hand to Man is not just a slogan to us—it is our way of life.
