By Major Nancy MartinezLa misma palabra nos inspira para congregarnos! 1997 será un año que vendrá lleno de bendiciones, el congreso salvacionista del Territorio Oeste de los Estados Unidos será una de esas grandes bendiciones de nuestro buen Dios.

He tenido la experiencia de ver milagros maravillosos en dias de congreso, y como Dios trabaja en la vida de las personas. En una gran marcha de victoria un borracho y su esposa estaban durmiendo debajo de un árbol en el parque Quinta Normal en Santiago de Chile, sin esperanza, sin futuro, sin un hogar donde cobijarse. Aquí se llevaría a cabo un aire libre masivo con cientos de salvacionistas hablando de la palabra y entregando el mensaje de salvación. Esta pareja a la distancia escuchó música , cantos , invitaciones y mucha mucha gente. No teniendo nada que hacer se levantaron para ver tanto alboroto. Se quedaron escuchando el mensaje del predicador, y Dios allí tocó sus corazones, transformó sus vidas en forma maravillosa y arrodillados en un bombo salvacionista ellos le entregaron su vida a aquél que les ofrecía esperanza y un nuevo futuro… Jesús !

Por esta razón quisiera inspirar en el pueblo Hispano-Americano a hacer de este congreso, un congreso de milagros, donde Dios nos hablará a través de su palabra, donde Dios hará milagros en las vidas de aquellos que como este hombre ya no tienen esperanza, sin importar el rincón del mundo donde estemos, si nó tenemos esperanza, si nó tenemos futuro o razón de vivir, Jesús es el mismo.

La invitación está abierta para que participemos de todos los eventos del gran congreso de Victoria, pero en especial quisiera animarles para que el día Sábado 7 de Junio de 1997 a las 6:30 de la tarde , nos congreguemos todos los Hispanos del Territorio en una gran reunión de Victoria. El General Paul A. Rader y su esposa nos saludarán y esperamos llenar el Center Theater del Long Beach Convention Center. Llenarlo con gente, con música, con testimonios, con oración, con alabanza pero especialmente….. con el Espíritu Santo de Dios!

This word inspires us to get together! 1997 will be a year full of blessings. The Salvation Army 1997 Great Victory Congress of the Western Territory, will be one of the BLESSINGS from our God.

I have had the experience of seeing wonderful miracles during a Congress, witnessing how God works in the lives of people. On one occasion during a great Victory March, a drunk and his wife were sleeping under a tree in the Quinta Normal Park of Santiago, Chile–without faith, without a future, and without a home. Here, at this park, a massive open air meeting took place, with hundreds of Salvationists talking about the Word of God and giving the Salvation message. This couple heard the music, singing, and invitations. Without anything else to do, they got up to see what all the noise was about. They stayed and listened to the message, and there God touched their hearts, transforming their lives in a wonderful way. Kneeling at the Salvation Army drum, they gave their lives to the One who offered them hope and a new future…Jesus!!

For this same reason, I want to inspire the Hispanic community in our Territory to make this Congress a congress of miracles, where God will speak to us through his Word, where God will do miracles in the lives of those who, like this man, don’t have hope in their lives. No matter what corner of the world we are in, if we don’t have hope, if we don’t have a future or a reason to live, the power of Jesus is just the same.

The invitation is open to participate in all the Great Victory Congress activities, but I want to encourage you particularly to come on Saturday June 7, 1997, at 6:30 p.m., to our great Victory meeting. General Paul A. Rader will greet us, and we hope to fill up the Center Theater of the Long Beach Convention Center. We want to fill it with people, with music, with testimonies, with prayer, and with praise, but especially with the Holy Spirit!
