The Salvation Army (Sounfiun Manau Ese Much) Chuuk Corps, under the capable leadership of Envoys Hermes and Rufina Otis, held its First Annual Appreciation Dinner, which honored Dr. Ansito Walter, Governor of Chuuk, Federated States of Micronesia.

The evening was held at the beautiful Blue Lagoon Resort and included special music by the Chuuk Corps youth choir; awards were given to significant volunteers. The highlight of the program was the presentation of the Others Award to Governor Walter by Major Dave Hudson, divisional commander of the Hawaiian and Pacific Islands Division.

Dr. Walter expressed his humble appreciation for this award. He also was very grateful for the work of The Salvation Army in the State of Chuuk, and noted the positive impact the Army is having on young people there.
