Come Join Our Army
Lt. Colonel Eda Hokom, territorial secretary for program, reports 1,809 junior and 2,431 senior soldiers have joined the Western Territory’s ranks since the Come Join Our Army campaign started in June 2007. That’s great news!

Derby for a Difference
“The Prayer Warriors and Ambassadors of Holiness Sessions together raised $3,605 for World Services with their ‘Derby for a Difference,’” states Ambassadors of Holiness President Cadet Jay Koebel. Organized and promoted by the Ambassadors of Holiness Session, the 39-mile trek from Torrance Beach to the Santa Monica Pier (and back) provided an updated look—an ’80s theme—to the traditional Bike-a-Thon. Participants walked, ran, roller-skated, bicycled and skateboarded part or all of the distance.

ARC updates
More than 20 San Diego Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC) beneficiaries attend a weekly Bible study held at the center and led by San Diego Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center (KROC) members. Also, more than 30 men and women beneficiaries attend Sunday church at the KROC Corps each week. Capt. Grady Brown is the San Diego ARC administrator.

Santa Ana Celebrates
The Santa Ana Temple Corps, Calif., celebrated Holy Week with events for young and old. On Tuesday, approximately 200 viewed The Passion of the Christ. On Good Friday, 250 leaders, soldiers and friends participated in a Passover Seder. On Easter, worshipers filled the corps as they celebrated the resurrection; after the service, families enjoyed an afternoon at the park and returned for an evening meeting. Majors Antonio and Aide Horta are corps officers.

Cascade Divisional Commander Major Donald Hostetler enrolled Francis Landfair, Luella Landfair and Lucas O’Donnel as senior soldiers of the Portland Tabernacle Corps on Easter Sunday. Lt. Raymond and Major Nancy Dihle are corps officers. Welcome!

According to 107-year-old Bishop Otis Clark, his conversion in 1922 by a Salvationist—while he was 19 years old, and in a jail in Los Angeles—began a lifetime of preaching for the former bootlegger. Recognized as the world’s oldest traveling evangelist, he has given altar calls in nearly every state. The Tacoma, Wash., News Tribune reported the story. Recently, he was a guest speaker at the Puyallup, Wash., corps.
