Eugene women deliver May baskets
Shut-ins in Eugene, Ore., were treated to homemade May baskets, made by the corps’ women’s ministries group, reports Major Betsy Kyle, Cascade divisional women’s ministries & community care ministries secretary. Each basket was adorned with a fresh flower taken from the Home League secretary’s garden. Similar ideas will be shared at a workshop being prepared by Major Florence Murray, Eugene corps officer, at an upcoming fall Women’s Ministries retreat: Taking the tea party to the homebound woman. “This could be a CCM/WM outreach effort,” said Kyle, “combining the two ministries in one.”

Stockton ARC turns 40
Stockton Mayor Ed Chavez recently signed a proclamation recognizing the Stockton, Calif., ARC’s 40 years of ministry. The week culminated with the annual BBQ sobriety reunion dinner at the center. Majors Delbert and Victoria Brockelman serve as administrator and director of special services, respectively.

Coeur d’Alene Kroc hits goal
The Western Territory’s Kroc Center slated for Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, has reached its groundbreaking goal of $6 million, reports Major John Chamness, Inland Northwest & Kroc Center coordinator. Coeur d’Alene Mayor Sandi Bloem announced the pledge of $1 million, given by the J.A. and Kathryn Albertson Foundation. The foundation is an Idaho-based family foundation that gives to educational and charitable causes in Idaho.

PASCH addresses domestic violence

General Shaw Clifton has announced names for future cadet sessions following Witnesses for Christ (2007-2009). They are: Prayer Warriors (2008-2010), Ambassadors of Holiness (2009-2011), Friends of Christ (2010-2012), Proclaimers of the Resurrection (2011-2013), and Disciples of the Cross (2012-2014).
