India—The Salvation Army continues to help people in Mumbai, India recover after last month’s train bombings. With the immediate response over, Army personnel are providing ongoing trauma counseling and spiritual support to those affected by the bombings.

Indonesia—Thanks to a grant from the Hong Kong government, The Salvation Army in Hong Kong is providing aid over a three-month period to the people in Indonesia, as an ongoing response to this spring’s massive earthquake.

A Salvation Army Compassion in Action team is delivering emergency food supplies, gasoline lanterns and tents. The team will also operate a mobile health clinic, and a trauma counseling team will provide services.
Iraq—Commissioner Roy Frans, international secretary for the South Pacific and East Asia, shared a letter received from Muntajab Ibraheem, chair of the Iraqi Salvation Humanitarian Organization, in response to the Army’s prayers for them: “We thank everybody who prays for our injured country and for our people. With all the words I say I think I can’t express my feelings. Please pass my message to all peoples who pray for Iraq and for peace in the world.”
