A ‘Family Fair’ Shows People Really Count

The People Count!! campaign was much in evidence at “A Family Fair,” the Cascade Camp Meetings, held recently at Camp Kuratli at Trestle Glen. Leaders were Lt. Colonels Richard and Bettie Love, divisional leaders.

More than 350 delegates enjoyed the abundant blessing of God through uplifting music, inspiring Bible studies and the inspired preaching of visiting leaders, Colonels Bruce and Dorothy Harvey. The altars were lined time and again as the Holy Spirit moved among the people, gently encouraging new and renewed commitment.

Special guests Grateful Hearts, a talented musical troupe from the Del Oro Division, led by Captains Ed and Joyce Loomis, received a superb response from listeners.

Delegates were moved to reach even more friends and neighbors for Christ as results of the People Count! campaign were shared. In a special session called “Call to a Count,” Captain Donna Ames detailed how people can personally affect the campaign’s outcome.

The Barnabas Players of Prairie College, Alberta, Canada, presented a soul-searching drama on the Christian life, and the Engstrom Family Singers reinforced the challenge with music. The dedication to God of Austin Ray Sullivan, infant son of Captains James and Laura Sullivan, by Major Len Blix, was a moving example of how people really do count.

On Sunday morning the delegates gathered to praise God and to bid farewell to three candidates as they prepared to enter the College for Officer Training. Fellowship with God, renewed friendships, wonderful memories and the assurance of sins forgiven became the blessed souvenirs of all who attended the camp meetings.
