Practice continues
In between classes, seminars, and field training outings, the cadets of the Bridgebuilders Session are preparing for a most important time in their lives—Commissioning! There are songs to learn, marching steps to master, and doctrines to memorize, but most important is the preparation that is taking place in each heart as God prepares the Bridgebuilders spiritually for their first appointments.
The Commencement exercises will once again be held among the beautiful Rose Gardens on the lawn at Crestmont College on Friday, June 18 at 10:30 a.m. General John Larsson will be delivering the commencement address. The Commissioning and Ordination of the Bridgebuilders Session will be held at the First Church of the Nazarene in Pasadena, Calif., on Saturday, June 19 at 2:00 p.m.
Also participating with the cadets will be eight auxiliary captains who will be commissioned as full captains. A “Celebration of Ministry” will commence at 6:00 p.m. and include the appointing of the Bridgebuilders to their first assignments by Commissioner Linda Bond, the parade of previous session flags, the presentation of the Long Service and Trailblazer Awards and a production by the cadets featuring music and drama from many of the musicals written by General John Gowans (Ret.) and General John Larsson.
This truly is going to be a weekend that you won’t want to miss! Please pray for the cadets of the Bridgebuilders as they continue their preparations.

“LIVE ‘04 takes us back to our early Salvationist roots where the Army tradition was to do what ever it takes to capture the attention of the sinner and introduce him to Jesus,” says Captain Kyle Smith, territorial youth secretary. “Our founder, William Booth, even said that he would preach standing on his head if he thought it would bring one more soul to Christ. While we may not see anyone preaching on his head at LIVE ’04, what we will see is some pretty radical and exciting ministry from the talented youth of our territory!”
