What you need to know

Commissioning 2008 is being held again at the Cerritos Center For The Performing Arts, The Sheraton Cerritos Hotel and the Crestmont campus. The events at Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts are ticketed events, with a charge of $10 per ticket. You will want to order your tickets early for these events in order to prevent any disappointment. Cerritos Performing Arts Center is allowing us to issue tickets again as open seating by level. Your ticket will give you a level—you may sit anywhere in that level.

Following the Friday Commencement at Crestmont, we will provide everyone with a picnic lunch to enjoy on the lawn while the National Brazilian Band provides a bandstand concert. (Please note that you need to order a ticket for this lunch even though there is no charge for it.)

The annual Territorial Bible Bowl Competition will start at Crestmont on Friday afternoon, and will conclude on Saturday Morning at the Cerritos Sheraton.

Friday evening’s “All Over The World” program will highlight the work of the worldwide Army, and the food festival prior to the program will offer different foods from each of the five global Salvation Army zones. This will be a great time of fellowship.

Following both Friday and Saturday evening programs, the young adults of the territory will have an opportunity to gather for fellowship.

General John Larsson (Ret.) will be presenting a special program of his musicals, including solos from former cast members here in the west. This is something that you are not going to want to miss! Space is limited so order your ticket early!

We are offering a free cup of Starbucks (or any other drink of your choice) prior to the Sunday Morning Commissioning service…another great opportunity for you to meet with fellow Salvationists.

Trade—Resource Connection will be present the entire weekend, and will have uniforms available for purchase along with many other supplies.

Labora—If you use the worship planning software Labora, or would like to know about it, there will be a free training seminar on the Saturday morning of Commissioning.

Hotel—The Sheraton Cerritos Hotel offers discounted rates to the Army for Commissioning weekend, but you must make an early reservation.

Childcare—Childcare is available for all of the events at the Performing Arts Center…you must register your child ahead of time.

The registration deadline for tickets and childcare is May 19. We strongly recommend you book early!
