Army to minister at North American Indigenous Games

The Salvation Army will assist with ministry and service at the 2002 North American Indigenous Games, slated for Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada July 25-August 4.

Salvationists will participate in the Games by helping serve food to the 2,500 athletes at the Red River College. The 85 volunteers who have signed on include 40 aboriginal (First Nation) from BC North Canada. Five of those volunteers are new aboriginal auxiliary captains.

“Visitors to the Games are welcome to come on board for our outreach ministry when they are in town,” said Lisa St. Andrews, Indigenous Games program coordinator.

Other planned activities include street and van ministries, praise and worship centers, cultural dance, theater and prayer walks.
