Gaines Named B. A.; Love to Golden St.;
Burger to Lead Cascade

Lt. Colonels Jerry and Jeanine Gaines

Lt. Colonel Jerry W. Gaines, Golden State Division commander, has been appointed Territorial Business Administrator effective July 1 upon the retirement of Colonel George Church who currently occupies that position. Lt. Colonel Jeanine Gaines will become Territorial League of Mercy Secretary.

Gaines was commissioned in 1965. He holds a B. A. in Business Administration from the Northwest Nazarene College and an M.B.A. from Pepperdine University. The couple has served in a number of corps appointments as corps officers, and Gaines has filled appointments in five divisions as divisional financial secretary. From 1991 to 1995 he was the Territorial Financial Secretary.

Gaines will have responsibility for managing the business affairs of the Territory and coordinating the work of the Audit, Finance, Community Relations and Development, Legal, Property and Supplies and Purchasing Departments.

Commissioner Peter Chang has assigned Cascade Division commander, Lt. Colonel Richard Love to assume responsibilities for the command of the Golden State Division. Lt. Colonel Bettie Love will become Director of Women’s Services. The Loves have served within the Cascade Division, which comprises Oregon and southern Idaho for the past 6 years.

Major Kurt Burger, Northwest Division General Secretary, has been appointed Divisional Commander for the Cascade Division. Major Alicia Burger will serve as Director of Women’s Organizations.
